Mizzou’s athletic director, Mike Alden, and the director for advancement for the Tiger Scholarship Fund, Nico Yantko, hit the road yesterday to visit several counties in Northwest Missouri in an effort to get to know more Mizzou fans. The pair made stops in Saline, Livingston, Grundy, Mercer, Harrison, Gentry, Nodaway, Atchison, Buchanan and Jackson counties, traveling over 550 miles in one day.
Alden has made a day trip to visit fans across the state every month for more than 16 years, visiting all 114 counties at least twice with various staff members. On this trip, he and Yantko had breakfast at a country club in Chillicothe, talked the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals playoff runs, and spoke at an assembly at Princeton High School, among other adventures.
