MIZZOU ANNOUNCES 2015 FOOTBALL GAME DAY ENHANCEMENTS

Department of Athletics continues to boost fan experience at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Football’s game day at Memorial Stadium offers fans one of the most unique environments in the country to experience the pageantry and excitement of college football. The University of Missouri Department of Athletics continually evaluates this experience and has announced several enhancements and modifications for the 2015 season.

“Maintaining our great fan experience at Mizzou Football game days is extremely important to us,” said Senior Director of External Engagement Ashley Moore. “Building on success is essential, but we’re always learning, which makes feedback from Mizzou fans especially valuable.”

In partnership with Levy Restaurants, Memorial Stadium’s concessions customer experience has been modified with the intention of providing increased options and variety, improved visual representation and decreased wait times. Decreased customer wait times at stands and kiosks around the stadium remains a continued priority.

Mizzou has increased the number of promotional giveaways at home games for the 2015 season. Giveaway items include rally towels, pom-poms and fans. These giveaways will be available while supplies last at selected games throughout Mizzou’s home schedule.

In-game entertainment will receive a boost with the presence of Faurot Field’s own DJ, whose musical selections will complement Marching Mizzou. Joining the fun will be Mizzou’s cheer squad, which will now routinely operate a mobile t-shirt launcher that has the capability of firing 24 t-shirts every five seconds to awaiting Mizzou fans.

The health and safety of fans who visit Mizzou events continues to be a priority, as enhanced training of event staff has been provided. Readily available hydration at outdoor events remains a matter of extreme importance, as water bottle filling stations have been installed throughout Memorial Stadium. Water fountain locations have also been improved on the stadium’s east side.

“Providing a safe and exciting environment for Mizzou Football fans is our biggest priority,” said Director of Event Management Derek Doolittle. “We appreciate the feedback we receive and strive to continue creating an outstanding product for our visitors.”

The Southeastern Conference conducts preseason and postseason surveys and Mizzou Athletics regularly analyzes the results in order to meet the needs of fans. Tiger fans who have participated in surveys provide valuable information that helps the department better its product and find focus areas for fan experience enhancements.
