Mizzou Network Highlights: Mizzou 51, Vanderbilt 28

Mizzou’s defensive lineman Kony Ealy, who recorded two sacks in Missouri’s 51-28 win over Vanderbilt, talks about the Tigers’ victory.

On the groove the Tigers defense is in:

“We’re just going out there and fighting for four quarters. We started fast and we finished. We have been preaching that all week. The whole defense did a great job going out there and starting fast and finishing.”

On shutting down Vanderbilt’s offensive weapons:

“Coaches preach the whole week keep coming and coming. Our DBs did a great job in covering (Vanderbilt’s receivers). Our defensive line did a great job putting pressure on the QB. There were calls out there that they missed, and there were calls out there that they got right. We got the victory. That’s all that matters.

On getting off to a good start:

“It was key (to get off to a good start). We kind of got the crowd out of it, and the momentum was all the way down for them. For us we kept starting fast and kept going, kept going, kept going.

On 7,000 Mizzou fans making the trip to Nashville:

“I‘m so psyched on that. It means so much to have so many people on your side like that. We’d love to have more. That means a lot to us. We feed off that. We love our crowd and we love our fans. I’m so tired right now. I appreciate it all, for real.”
