On top of being selected for The Rimington Trophy Watch List, an award given to the best center in the nation, junior Evan Boehm is one of 64 players to be named on the Outland Trophy Watch List, which goes to the best interior lineman on either side of the ball.
Boehm, a native of Kansas City, has been the epitome of dependability for Mizzou, having started 26 straight games for the team. Boehm also earned 2012 Freshman of the Year honors and anchored an offensive line that paved the way for nearly 238 rushing yards per game last season.
Senior defensive end Markus Golden has been also awarded a second preseason honor, this time being named to the 81-man Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, given each year to the best defensive player in college football. This is in addition to his inclusion on the Chuck Bednarik Award Watch List, which also tracks the best defensive player of the year.
Golden, who hails from St. Louis, racked up 6.5 sacks last season. He also amassed 13 tackles for a loss, ranking third on the team in a category that included fellow standouts Micheal Sam and Kony Ealy.
