This week’s version of Tiger Talk showcased two Mizzou seniors: linebacker Andrew Wilson and wide receiver Marcus Lucas. Coach Gary Pinkel started off the program by talking about how his team’s preparation enables them to play well each game of the season.
“Without question we’re a lot better football team than we were in September,” Pinkel said. However, Pinkel notes that the team has yet to play their best game.
Mizzou Voice of the Tigers Mike Kelly also touched on the fan support—particularly for road games—this season. “I personally believe that I’ve seen more Mizzou fans on the road this year, following your football team to different locations, than I can remember,” Kelly said.
Pinkel talks about how he can’t wait for the new deck to be built on the east side of The ZOU and how it should help to hold sound in better.
Then Wilson and Lucas took to the mic, and it didn’t take long for them to entertain the crowd. Wilson shared a rather embarrassing story about Lucas in which he told listeners that Lucas’s mom has beat him in every game of basketball they’ve ever played. Lucas’s mother played basketball at Mizzou.
Lucas got revenge however, as he told a story about how he stopped Wilson from scoring a touchdown in high school, something that Wilson would have cherished as a defender.
You’ll be able to catch Wilson, Lucas, Pinkel and the rest of the Mizzou team in two more games this regular season. The Tigers will face Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss., on Nov. 23 as well as at The ZOU on Nov. 23 against Texas A&M.
